Lachlan Macquarie Lecture

A prominent citizen will deliver an annual speech about the region, honouring the colonial Governor who opened up Western Sydney and its River Cities.

In 2017, the Lachlan Macquarie Lecture was delivered by the Premier of NSW, the Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP (see video above), following the inaugural speech given by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in 2016.

These awards have been established to recognise outstanding contribution to regional infrastructure planning and delivery by those involved in public policy. This is the first year the awards have been held, and the plan is to present these annually at the BOOMTOWN! Property & Infrastructure Summit, recognising extraordinary leadership in regard to the physical structure of Greater Western Sydney.
