Airport City Summit 2024

Federal, State and Local Government leaders and key industry stakeholders prepare for take-off at Western Sydney International Airport. This event marked 1,000 days until the projected airport opening in late 2026 and recognised the progress made on the 10-year anniversary since Sydney’s first 24/7 international airport was announced.

Key speakers that took the stage at this inaugural event include Federal Infrastructure, Transport and Local Government Minister Hon. Catherine King MP, NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, Hon. Paul Scully MP, Western Sydney International Airport Chief Executive Officer, Simon Hickey, Secretary of NSW Department of Planning, Housing & Infrastructure, Kiersten Fishburn, and Western Sydney University Chancellor and Western Parkland City Authority Chair, Prof. Jennifer Westacott AO.

Discussing how best to leverage the economic opportunities this once-in-a-generation piece of infrastructure offers Greater Western Sydney, including how Federal and State governments will collaborate to attract major investment and meet the needs of residents in Greater Western Sydney.

We used this chance to re-spark the imagination of global investors and local communities about the potential of this precinct and better understand how Greater Western Sydney is gearing up to take on the world.
