Honour roll
The Dialogue honours the people, projects and initiatives which fuel positive outcomes for the region. We recognise these efforts by awarding the Pemulwuy Prize and Project of the Year, and through our Patrons’ and Chairman’s awards.

Pemulwuy Prize
Named after the famous Indigenous warrior and leader, the Pemulwuy Prize honours a leading citizen or group who have made an outstanding contribution to the region.

BOOMTOWN! Project of the Year
To recognise developments that have delivered excellence in infrastructure and transport, the BOOMTOWN! Project of the Year award was established to acknowledge completed (or near completed) major projects over the previous 12 months that have, or will, significantly contribute to the sustainable growth of Greater Western Sydney.

2019 Patrons’ Prize
Monica Barone, Chief Executive Officer, City of Sydney, Elizabeth Ann Macgregor OBE, Director, Museum of Contemporary Art and Dr Tim Williams, Australasia Cities Leader, Arup (and former CEO, Committee for Sydney) all won the Patron’s Prize for Regional Collaboration which recognised their collective roles in building links from Sydney’s East to West.

2018 Patrons’ Prize
Former NSW Premier Mike Baird AO received the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue’s Patrons’ Prize for excellence in Public Policy.
“Perhaps Mike Baird’s most important economic legacy was the sale of government assets and subsequent recycling of this capital to invest in new public works – much of which has now manifest in mega-projects in Western Sydney,” Chairman Christopher Brown AM said.

2018 Patrons’ Prize
CEO of Campbelltown City Council, Lindy Deitz, Secretary of Department of Regional Development & Cities, Dr Steven Kennedy, and Deputy Chief Commissioner, of the Greater Sydney Commission, Geoff Roberts, all recognised for their contribution to the delivery of the Western Sydney City Deal.

2017 Patrons’ Prize
Hon. Joe Hockey
Ambassador to the United States & former Treasurer
Hon. Anthony Albanese MP
Shadow Infrastructure Minister and former Deputy Prime Minister
This prize recognised their respective leadership within their own parties to deliver a unanimous decision to develop Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek.
“Despite having been tribal warriors for the Liberal and Labor Parties since their days on Sydney University Student Council, they found a way to work across the divide to deliver a project this region had been denied for decades,” Chairman Christopher Brown AM said.
