A professional development program bringing together influential public and private sector leaders in New South Wales kicks off today with the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue’s 2023 Collaborative Leadership Program (CLP) returning for its second year.

Across five jam-packed days, 40 current and emerging leaders from organisations with an interest in Greater Western Sydney (GWS) will travel to each corner of the region to develop high-level leadership skills and gain an in-depth understanding of the economic, social, political and environmental drivers of the region from the state and nation’s eminent leaders.

Following the success of the inaugural CLP in 2022, Dialogue Chairman Christopher Brown AM, said, investing in tomorrow’s leaders today will help drive the growth and development of GWS.

“We are undergoing a once-in-a-century city-shaping experience in our region and will need a generation of leaders that can drive change and embed collaboration to ensure our collective success,” he said.

“This program brings government, business, community, academia and industry together to define new approaches to governance and finance, as well as planning, delivery and operation of projects and services.”

Delegates will get hands-on experience at on-site sessions in Parramatta, Liverpool, Mount Druitt, Cabramatta, Kingswood, Shalvey and Badgerys Creek, and hear from 55 eminent speakers from the public, private and community sector.

Program Director Faith Halliday said the program provided unmatched exposure to the skills needed to
become a leader in GWS.

“CLP is being taken to new levels in just our second year with interactive learning, deep cultural immersion site visits and networking events providing a first-class experience for our cohort,” she said.

“We are expanding the capacity for existing and emerging leaders in GWS to govern, build, advise, assist and advocate for this dynamic growth region now and into the future.”

The 2023 Collaborative Leadership Program is delivered in partnership with NSW Government and Western Sydney University.
