PHIVE Parramatta Square’ has taken out the Project of the Year Award at the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue’s Boomtown! 2022 Property & Infrastructure Awards.

In front of over 300 government, business, infrastructure, and community leaders, City of Parramatta Council received the award which celebrates an iconic addition to Parramatta Square.

The $136 million masterpiece, which opened in September this year, is the new home of City of Parramatta Council chambers and library as well as providing spaces for businesses with smart tech labs, wellness and sound recording studios alongside a community space and café.

The exterior of the building showcases the bold design by leading French architect Manuelle Gautrand alongside Australian firms DesignInc and Lacoste+Stevenson, which is modelled on the Pompidou Centre in Paris, France.

Delivered by BUILT, PHIVE is a truly smart building with a 6-star Green Star rating and is set to be the most sustainable government building in Australia.

Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue Chairman Christopher Brown AM congratulated City of Parramatta Council for their ground-breaking project.

“Very few cultural and civic buildings around the world have the power of taking away the breath of a regular bystander; this is one of those projects,” he said.

“PHIVE Parramatta Square has set a new benchmark when it comes to community facilities and in such a short space of time has already established an iconic presence, generating Sydney’s frontier for civics, culture, arts and business.”

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Donna Davis says PHIVE is designed with communities in mind.

“PHIVE at 5 Parramatta Square combines eye-catching design, environmental features, and state-of-the-art community facilities in the heart of Parramatta’s CBD,”

she said. “It is an honour to win two awards recognising the many years of hard work to deliver this iconic building for our community to explore and enjoy.

We thank Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue for its Boomtown Awards”.
