It started as a single-street barbeque in 2012, now Lakemba Nights is one of Australia’s best places to celebrate the ancient tradition for Muslims to break their dawn-to-dusk fast with a joyous celebration that brings together family, friends and strangers for a fabulous food feast.
From dusk till 2am, the event sees visitors indulge in traditional Islamic foods, as well as street favourites and innovative creations from more than 70 local businesses serving cuisines from nations including Indonesia, Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey, Cocos Islands, Egypt, India and Africa.
