Arts Win for Western Sydney

The Western Sydney Arts and Cultural sector is set to benefit from a 40 percent increase in program funding for local organisations.

Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant, announced that 19 local arts and cultural groups will receive a share of $3.4m for 2016, up from $2.4m last year.

“The recent State Budget committed an additional $7.5 million to grow arts and culture in Western Sydney and using those funds we will continue to invest in organisations over the next four years,” Mr Grant said.

This is the first time the NSW Government’s Arts and Cultural Policy Framework, Create in NSW, has guided the distribution of these funds which has a mandate to grow the sector in Western Sydney.
